THE FEELS

August 31, 2017

Dreamy lips... they captured your attention, but why? They made you stop and wonder about them... they made you feel something even if you don't quite know what.

It is a proven sales fact that people do not make purchases strictly based upon need, people drop money on items based upon how they feel. Online, the user experience is everything,  a pleasing experience can make the difference between getting a contact or getting bounced.

A bounce is what people do when they click away from your online presence and to the next online competitor. You don’t want to get bounced, you want to people to linger and you have about 3 seconds to make that stay happen.

So what's up?Take today’s DIY box website kits as an example. They can look good but they are subliminally stiff. They do not warm up your visitors and depending on your industry, warmth matters. A warm user experience can definitely prevent an online bounce.

That is where the quote comes in, this part in particular. It is not about religion, it is about feeling:

Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier.

When you go to a website or see a social media post, you like it if it makes you feel better/happier. When those feelings happen, sometimes you take a minute to explore that website to see what they are all about. You definitely want people to do that about your online presence, whether it is your social media or your website.

If you have made your own website or need to have one made or updated, you have got keep in mind the user experience. It is not enough to be full of information, people must feel eased by the experience you project in order to learn more.

Online we don’t just want information, we want to feel welcomed, and we want you to convey that you have what we need. We also want your website to perform in a way that does not annoy us. People are demanding online and they will get satisfaction from you or they will get it from someone else who does what you do. That person is on the same search page as where they found you. There has to be a certain magic in your online experience so that your magic separates you from your competitor and saves you from the dreaded bounce.

“Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own home. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor . . . Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of (your) God’s kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting.”― Mother Teresa
